Dominion Dealer Solutions Launches New Suite of Cloud-based Services

By Kasey Schefflin-Emrich

Automotive marketing and inventory solution provider Dominion Dealer Solutions has created a suite of cloud-based services intended to improve IT management for automotive dealers around the nation.

The suite incorporates services from Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Windows Intune. Provided services will include Web and desktop productivity applications through Microsoft Office Professional Plus and Microsoft Web Apps; e-mail through Microsoft Exchange Online; portal, content management and collaboration through Microsoft SharePoint Online; instant messaging, screen sharing and VOIP telephony through Microsoft Lync Online; PC and mobile device management through Microsoft Windows Intune; and dealer private cloud for hosting a dealer's own applications and services through Microsoft Azure.

All of the services are available as either part of Dominion Dealer's Management System or as a separate service.

“Office 365, Intune and Azure offer rich hosted services that allow dealers to update their operations and transition services to the cloud at their own pace, while still taking advantage of all the great features of the software they already have in production,” Van Koppersmith, president of Dominion DMS, said in a statement.

John Reed, vice president of Dominion DMS for Dominion Dealer Solutions, said the cloud-based services will provide numerous benefits for dealers.

“These services offer dealers the opportunity to improve collaboration between employees and customers, increase internal productivity, and reduce the management effort and expense of the technologies that are typically used with DMS and other dealership software solutions,” Reed said in a statement.

In related news, Dominion Dealer Solutions recently launched a web-based CRM platform that will provide Internet leads and comprehensive showroom management to single rooftop dealerships as well as dealer groups. The new platform, which will allow for greater sales team accountability and more saved deals, will replace the company's current server-based CRM and hosted ILM tool.
