IceWEB signs another IceBOX customer deal

By Jody Ray Bennett

Leading provider of unified data-storage appliances, IceWEB, announced the signing of another IceBOX Private Cloud customer. Though the agreement initially only involves 500 user licenses, there is an expectation for greater numbers as the system rolls out, according to Yahoo.

Chief Executive Officer at IceWEB, Rob Howe, believes that they have identified a place in the market for their IceBOX Private Cloud product: companies in need of BYOD solutions for both their employees and customers. This niche will also provide the company with a consistent revenue stream and will grow hardware revenue. This latest customer in particular, added Howe, had security problems with a previous cloud service and requires the best security possible from this new agreement as a result. This is expected to involve maintaining user functionality, while also offering additional control over their data assets.

This functionality requirement included user access to the IceBOX product from any location and using any mobile device, as well as using any major operating system, which Howe believes was a deciding factor for the faith-based non-profit in selecting IceWEB as a provider. The provider boasts a consistent history of effective unified storage appliances and cloud-based services, which they also believe attracted the customer. IceWEB expect to be able to make further announcements about their successes in the near future, as their business booms.

IceBOX’s high-level security features include data erasing options, forced passcodes and 256 bit encryption. The product integrates seamlessly with LDAP or Active Directory authentication and supports the broadest range of devices and software cooperability – including iOS, Blackberry, Windows, Android, Kindle, iPad, Apple OS and iPhone.

According to their website, IceWEB manufactures award-winning, high performance unified data storage appliances with their proprietary storage management software, IceSTORM, which provides storage management capabilities at a fraction of traditional provider’s prices.
