ViaWest Succeeds in Obtaining Cisco Cloud and Managed Services Advanced Certification

By Brian Anderson

ViaWest, one of the largest privately held data center, cloud computing and managed service providers in North America, announced on Tuesday that it had achieved the Cisco Cloud and Managed Services Advanced Certification.

This identifies ViaWest as one of the first providers in the Western U.S., capable of selling and delivering cloud and managed services to help its customers increase their revenue by decreasing the time constraints.

"As a worldwide industry leader in information technology, Cisco sets the bar for companies that solve business challenges, while executing on excellent service principles," Jason Carolan, chief technology officer for ViaWest, said in a statement carried by Reuters.

Cisco Cloud and Managed Services Program (CMSP) certification is part of a CMSP go-to-market strategy. The program helps partners such as ViaWest brainstorm, create, market and sell cloud and managed services with various different business acceleration tools, services and sales training.

"ViaWest has been a Cisco partner for over 10 years,” said Carolan, “and our Cloud and Managed Services Advanced Certification is just another way we demonstrate our commitment to excellence and to delivering innovative solutions to our customers."

The Cisco Resale Channel Program provides a structure for partners to follow in order to successfully deliver Cisco solutions to its customers. The program validates a partner’s skill and other factors that customers use in order to choose between different partners.

Along with ViaWest, Allstream announced on January 30 that it had also achieved certification from Cisco’s CMSP.

"Allstream was an early adopter of Cisco cloud services and we are proud to be recognized by Cisco for our leadership in this area," said Dean Prevost, president of Allstream. "With Cisco's Cloud and Managed Services Master Certification, Allstream can deliver cloud solutions that are highly reliable, secure and available."
