SYNNEX Supports MSP Cloud Strategies with Commvault Partnership

SYNNEX (News - Alert) Corporation and Commvault have partnered in an effort to boost SYNNEX’s cloud strategy. The distributor will aggregate Commvault’s data management and cloud data protection offerings for its MSP customers, implementing monthly-based usage licensing. The alliance makes it easy and affordable for MSPs to white label a cloud data management solution in their own datacenters or via an IaaS solution.

The Commvault platform offers a number of advantages for SYNNEX’s MSP clients, including cloud infrastructure management and data retention and compliance as well as data protection. The platform also provides full control over all aspects of data management, enabling MSPs to reduce costs as well as bill end users directly.

Commvault’s portfolio is extremely flexible as well, letting service providers deploy on hosted infrastructure including AWS and Microsoft (News - Alert) Azure. The company’s platform works with more than 25 cloud providers, supporting private, public and hybrid deployments.

"As the proliferation of data moves at an exponential rate, solution providers need options not only to protect their customers' data, but also to be able to manage it," said Rob Moyer, VP, cloud and software solutions at SYNNEX. "While suitable for any vertical, Commvault is especially beneficial for public sector where compliance with data retention is paramount."

The company offers its SImpana software interface specifically geared toward federal, state and local governments. It features a single console and interface for automating backup, recovery, replication, archiving, search and reporting functions. The result is reduced storage and management costs along with improved efficiency and agility.

Commvault announced enhancements to its Data Platform last month along with integration with Hitachi (News - Alert) Data Systems (HDS) enterprise storage arrays. The upgraded platform includes IntelliSnap integration with Hitachi’s Virtual Storage Platform G Series arrays as well as Hitachi Universal replication.
