StillSecure Cloud Security Solutions Available Via Rackspace Hosting

StillSecure (News - Alert) announced that two of its cloud security solutions will now be available via the enhanced Cloud Tools Marketplace from Rackspace Hosting which specializes in cloud computing.

It was revealed that this marketplace will now become a gateway serving as an open ecosystem of cloud solutions. This will open up a wide range of tools that support Rackspace (News - Alert) open cloud for customers. The two cloud security solutions available to customers via Rackspace are the Cloud Network Security Appliance (Cloud NSA) and Cloud Security Monitoring Services (Cloud SMS).

In a release Ven Shanmugam, senior manager of corporate strategy at Rackspace said, “Rackspace is excited to have StillSecure as a part of the Cloud Tools Marketplace. By utilizing StillSecure’s Cloud solutions and Managed Security Services, Rackspace customers have options to address the complications that go along with building out their security infrastructure or using outboard security appliances.”

StillSecure Cloud NSA serves as a managed security services suite for cloud infrastructure that optimizes security. The second solution, StillSecure Cloud SMS is a host-based firewall management solution capable of being installed directly by Rackspace users. Also, these managed solutions will suit the purposes of first generation Cloud Servers and Cloud Servers powered by OpenStack.

According to RackSpace sources, the Rackspace Cloud Tools Marketplace provides third-party developed applications that are designed for the Rackspace open cloud. Customers will be able to browse, review and connect to various cloud solutions that are useful for management, monitoring, application deployment and so on.

James Brown, CTO of StillSecure said, “The Cloud is a powerful platform that all companies should be leveraging; however, security is the number one impediment to widespread cloud adoption. With its Cloud Tools Program, Rackspace has created an ecosystem comprising some of the most advanced cloud technologies on the market.”

Brown added that it is imperative to secure cloud environments, and solutions like Cloud NSA and Cloud SMS optimize security for running production loads in the cloud. This will enable Rackspace customers to move to the cloud easily.

Xeround, the Cloud Database company, recently announced that its zero-management cloud database for MySQL applications will be available to customers using the Rackspace open cloud.
