Clavister Launches New Product Portfolio for Virtual and Cloud Environments

Swedish network security company, Clavister (News - Alert) announced that it has released new highly-effective security solutions that can be deployed in virtual and cloud environments. The company specified that the new solutions are an enabler not inhibitor of the cloud.

Clavister claimed that its products are powered by a powerful cOS network security operating system. The Clavister cOS offers a rich palette of security service, both content-level and network-level security services and they are accompanied by a number of important infrastructural services, such as high availability and server load balancing.

The new Clavister Virtual Series is a set of network security products designed for virtual and cloud-based security, offering excellent performance, powerful security features and resource efficient. The series features four high-performance Virtual Security Gateways (VSGs) and they are designed to deliver multi-functional Security-as-a-Service (SaaS (News - Alert)) for virtual and private Cloud environments and hosting providers and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) for Internet Service Providers.

The VSGs can eliminate the problems associated with shared firewall for hosting providers. In a shared firewall scenario customers demand the capability to update their own security policies and Clavister lets customers have their own VSGs for applying their own policies. By offering a dedicated security gateway as value added services, hosting providers can also hope to generate additional revenue streams.

“Security of data remains the biggest inhibitor of Cloud services and providers face a daily battle to convince their customers that any services provided via the Cloud are secure. The Clavister Virtual Series is a true enabler of secure, robust Cloud services. They offer extremely fast, next generation firewalls in just one unit, therefore helping to keep the cost of rack space down. Providers will now be able to deliver Cloud services to their customers without compromise”, remarked Peter Johansson, president and CEO of Clavister, in a press release.
