Verdasys Offers Two New Data Loss Prevention Services in Europe

Enterprise Information Protection (EIP) solutions provider, Verdasys (News - Alert), has announced the availability of its managed Data Loss Prevention services in Europe. The company has two new offerings geared toward Global 2000 clients.

The new Verdasys Managed Service for Information Protection (MSIP) and the Verdasys Information Protection as a Service (IPaaS) offerings provide businesses with on-demand data protection technology, hosted at the company's secure European facilities.

The MSIP offering is a hosted, full-managed EIP solution, supported and maintained by experts within the company. The IPaaS solution allows end users to deploy and manage their own enterprise data policies without requiring additional setup or infrastructure costs.

Offerings were both announced in January in the U.S. and are the first enterprise data loss prevention solutions to be delivered as managed services.

The services aim to provide more options for helping customers minimize the cost of data security through a combination of proven expertise deploying enterprise solutions, combined with the ease and flexibility of a managed service.

Both solutions are backed by Verdasys' Digital Guardian technology, a flagship data protection platform solution. It features layered, contextual risk insight and data-center policy enforcement, as well as complete protection of intellectual property, trade secrets and privacy data within highly regulated and collaborative industries.

Digital Guardian serves as the foundation for the company's managed services and offers a faster and simpler time-to-value for organizations implementing enterprise DLP. The platform also provides a lower total cost of ownership when compared to less functional offerings that require large investments in hardware, software and headcounts.

The company's MSIP and IPaaS customers are provided with Digital Guardian management servers hosted in secure and high-availability facilities. They may be administered by Verdasys or by the user's security team, depending on which offering is chosen. Digital Guardian also offers tamper-resistant agents, encrypted agent-to-server communications and configurable forensics capture. No actual customer data is transmitted to the hosting facility in order to provide full risk analysis, alerting and reporting.

Both hosted solutions continuously monitor data, application and system access and usage when users are online, offline or in virtual environments. Customers' risk-based policy controls are also applied to adhere to data governance and compliance rules without affecting normal business operations.

"We are excited to extend our managed service offerings to European companies that are under pressure to maintain current security staffing levels and need to show faster time to project value," said Jim Ricotta (News - Alert), CEO at Verdasys. "In addition, we offer European workers privacy protection unique to Digital Guardian; no collection of personal data, but instead collection of descriptive event data, anonymization of all users, events and machines and real-time education of workers to risky activities to protect them from violating company policies.”
