MindTree, KPN File Joint Investment in Cloud Services Aggregator Platform

IT and product engineering company, MindTree Limited, and ICT service provider, KPN (News - Alert), have partnered to jointly invest in a cloud services aggregator platform for enterprise customers.

The agreement extends KPN and MindTree’s initial partnership, which began in 2010 with the purpose of delivering complementary services and products, including infrastructure and new technology solutions.

The new cloud service platform brings specific catalogue products, KPN and third-party product and customer legacy applications on a single platform and delivers them ‘as a service’ to enterprises globally, according to Steven van Schilfgaarde, CEO at KPN Corporate Market.

“The KPN cloud aggregation and delivery platform leverages our telecommunications and IT expertise to help us deliver on our strategy to converging information technology and telecommunications and to optimize opportunities for our customers,” van Schilfgaarde said. “As KPN we leverage our extended partner eco-system that enables our Challenger strategy outside the Netherlands. It fits with the tradition of an eco-system strategy & focus in which partners to help us with our global reach and additional (cloud) services capabilities. MindTree is a leading example of this strategy.”

KPN specifically appeals to the Dutch market, which made MindTree as a business partner a logical choice for customers not only in Europe but throughout the globe.

The companies’ technology and business partnership is reinforced by a new contract that includes a business model for commercial and innovation. Company officials said the cloud services aggregation allows KPN and MindTree to “logically bundle top of the bill and third-party services, tapping into the main business drivers CIO’s business managers and end users focus on,” according to a company statement, underscoring KPN’s and MindTree’s parallel cloud strategy.

“KPN has shown leadership and vision in its commitment to delivering this sophisticated aggregation platform for enterprises,” said Krishnakumar Natarajan, CEO and managing director at MindTree Limited. “Our cloud strategy is aligned with the business objectives of our customers and through this joint innovation program, we aim to deliver business enabling applications and services to our customers along with unique benefits such as unified contract, single sign-on and centralized governance.”
