Glowpoint Offers Advanced Video on the Cloud

Video on the cloud is the fusion of online video and cloud computing, two of the most popular trends in the United States right now. Businesses want the ability to work virtually and connect with clients who might otherwise not be able to meet in-person. Bringing these two trends together could help the generation develop the next major form of online communication.

Glowpoint (News - Alert), Inc. currently provides various cloud management services, and has announced it will work with B2B (business-to-business) video exchange solutions to allow more of its clients to work with cloud-based video.

“Glowpoint is focused on making easy, secure business-to-business visual communications a reality for customers,” said Joe Laezza (News - Alert), Glowpoint’s President and CEO. “Our next generation B2B service features and capabilities will allow customers to reach more partners using visual communications and increase use, allowing them to realize greater return on their investment in video.”

Glowpoint plans on expanding its OpenVideo cloud platform by allowing customers and partners to communicate easier, securely and cost-effectively. Clients will be able to schedule meetings online, call for video support and have access to a new Multi-Protocol Video Trunk that connects to the cloud, opening more access on the network for customers to have B2B conversations.

By bringing these services through the cloud, Glowpoint can deliver high bandwidth access to massive amounts of data.

“[The Multi-Protocol Video Trunk] allows enterprises to connect to multiple exchanges without requiring them to disconnect or reconfigure existing connections to exchanges, or change their current dialing plans,” said Anil Balani, Senior Vice President of Technology at Glowpoint.  “The MPVT enables immersive B2B visual collaboration across boundaries like never before.”

Laezza said his company has been working hard on bringing this new communications solution to its customers, and after a long development period, it’s finally ready.
