ScaleMatrix Signs OEM Agreement with CA Technologies to Expand Portfolio

ScaleMatrix recently confirmed that it was collaborating with CA Technologies (News - Alert) on an OEM agreement that will enable ScaleMatrix to support and deliver CA ARCserve products to enterprise and service providers within North America. The agreement also effectively extends the strategic partnership between both companies.

The new agreement will allow ScaleMatrix (News - Alert) to use the CA ARCserve technology in the delivery of advanced enterprise backup solution. The solution will be offered for on-premise deployment as well as an appliance-based service available in CA AppLogic clouds.

Leveraging the cloud appliance, service providers will be able to further enhance their SaaS (News - Alert) portfolios with data protection capabilities. Under the terms of the agreement, ScaleMatrix will also deliver technical support to customers for ensuring seamless CA ARCserve deployments.

In a release, David Shepard, ScaleMatrix's Director of Channel Sales, said, "Companies of all sizes are increasingly looking to cloud-based backup solutions to effectively and efficiently protect their critical business data. Our new, deeper collaboration with CA Technologies enables us to provide our customers with best-of-breed data protection in whatever form best suits their current and future needs.”

David Roberts, vice president of the Americas for Data Management at CA Technologies, said, “ScaleMatrix’s comprehensive understanding of the computing requirements of both enterprise and SMB customers make it a great choice for companies facing an explosion in the volume of data they need to protect—while the resources they can afford to allocate to that protection remain relatively limited. We look forward to working closely with them to meet the needs of our expanding installed base of CA ARCserve customers.”

The new offering from ScaleMatrix is based on the Dell’s (News - Alert) 510 series which will allow it to offer a fully-supported, tier one hardware platform capable of supporting a highly advanced software solution.
