CSC Positioned in 'Leaders' Quadrant of Latest Gartner Report

CSC recently announced that it has been positioned in the "Leaders" quadrant of the new Gartner (News - Alert) report. The report, which was published on December 8, 2011, is called "Magic Quadrant for Public Cloud Infrastructure as a Service" and consists of a comprehensive review of 20 providers of public cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), their vision along with their ability to execute their services.

In a release, Siki Giunta, vice president, Cloud Computing & Software Services, CSC (News - Alert), said, "Cloud Computing is a strategic growth business for CSC. Our public infrastructure is consistent around the world. In this report Gartner evaluates our vision which we think is unique. CSC believes that in the near future the lines will blur between public and private cloud so we're building a public cloud that will enable the hybrid enterprise cloud now and in future years. All of our cloud customers will benefit from CSC's consistent architecture and rate card across all cloud models. Gartner's recognition is appreciated and valued by everyone at CSC."

The "Magic Quadrant for Public Cloud Infrastructure as a Service" report was authored by Lydia Leong and Ted Chamberlin. If you would like a copy of the full report, please go to csc.com.

According to Gartner, "The common use cases for public cloud compute IaaS are: development and testing environments; high-performance computing and batch processing; Internet-facing websites and Web-based applications (which may or may not have architectures specifically designed for the cloud); and nonmission-critical internal business applications."
