New Polycom VVX 500 Multimedia Business Phone Offered by Whaleback Managed Services

Whaleback Managed Services is a leader in managed business services. The company recently announced that it was chosen as one of two beta sites and is now an authorized reseller for the Polycom (News - Alert) VVX 500. The Polycom VVX 500 is the latest high quality, all-in-one business phone offers users one touch access to multimedia and unified communications from Whaleback's award-winning Crystal Blue Managed Services. Polycom, Inc is one of the worldwide leaders in standards-based unified communications (UC) and launched the Polycom VVX 500 back in October.

In a release, Karil Reibold (News - Alert), CEO and President at Whaleback, said, "As an award-winning optimized cloud-based managed voice service and unified communications provider, as well as longstanding Polycom partner, we were thrilled to be a beta site for the Polycom VVX 500 and have found it to perform beautifully. Polycom's next generation phone is well matched with our CrystalBlue Managed Service -- both are focused on providing flexible, economical, highest quality business communications to help companies focus on running their business, improve productivity and reduce costs."

The Polycom VVX 500 multimedia phone is an all-in-one, desktop productivity tool for the knowledge worker and busy professional that combines a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephone, with high definition audio, streaming video, instant access to applications and web content, and best-in-class unified communications (UC). An optional USB video camera, with planned availability in 2012, will transform the new phone into a fully functioning HD video conferencing system. The VVX 500 expands the Polycom RealPresence desktop line and introduces the lowest price point yet to the industry's first business media phone product line, which Polycom debuted in 2009.

Some of the benefits of Whaleback's Managed Voice Services include: companies use and pay for only what they need, when they need it, access to highly trained support professionals, guaranteed full end-to-end support, centralized proactive monitoring and management, remote problem identification and resolution and business continuity planning and coordination.

Some of the features of the Polycom VVX 500 include up to 12 line appearances, full-featured phone, interactive color touch screen UI, streaming media video playback, Polycom HD Voice,

video conferencing via external USB cam (coming post FCS), full Browser (Webkit), rich telephony features, supports expansion modules.
