Entuity Unveils New Version of its Eye of the Storm Enterprise 2012 Solution

Entuity announced a new version of its Eye of the Storm Enterprise 2012 solution. This new version features functional improvements on network coverage while reducing the time and effort required of network administrators.

Entuity provides innovative network management software for both large and small networks for enterprises. Entuity Eye of the Storm (EYE) delivers network predictability and control capabilities for enterprises, system integrators and managed service providers to manage network services and assets. They can also optimally meet service level commitments and implement best practices in network service delivery.

In a release John Diamond, Senior Solutions Architect at Entuity, said, “Our customers have always appreciated the technological competence of EYE, but they’ve also told us they need a solution that allows them to quickly visualize large amounts of seemingly unconnected data to quickly analyze and address network issues.”

“A great deal of effort went into EYE 2012 to do just that. This latest release was focused not only on technological advances but also on increased operational efficiency by greatly reducing the time and effort needed to produce meaningful results,” Diamond added.

It was revealed that EYE 2012 integrates all the required contemporary network management functionalities such as continual discovery of inventory and topology, event alerting, root cause analysis, configuration management and elemental and flow-based performance. These functionalities are integrated into one product with enterprise-wide scalability and extensive customizable reporting.

Virtual Switch Support features of EYE 2012 are capable of extending the discovery, inventory and topology of virtualized systems to include embedded virtual switches. The virtual switches supported by the new version are VMware standard vSwitch, VMware distributed vSwitch and Cisco (News - Alert) Nexus 1000V.

Officials added that greater improvements have been incorporated for enabling more efficient network management such as Extended Discovery. This allows the addition of more information about the infrastructure and its connectivity owing to the addition of the two new discovery protocols, Link Layer Discovery and Protocol (LLDP) and SONMP.

Oracle (News - Alert) Enterprise Manager 12c Integration is a plug-in developed in EYE 2011 for Oracle EM 11g which has been incorporated in the EYE 2012 and compatible with Oracle EM 12c. Oracle Enterprise Manager customers will now be able to proactively monitor and assure application health by detecting potential network problems that hinders application service delivery.

The platforms for which EYE 2012 is available are Microsoft Windows Server, Oracle Solaris and Red Hat (News - Alert) Enterprise Linux on both physical and virtualized hardware. Other supported virtual environments include Oracle VM Server and VM Manager, VMWare ESX/ESXi and vCenter Server, and Microsoft (News - Alert) Hyper-V.

In October 2011 Entuity a Gold level member of the Oracle PartnerNetwork, announced that it has successfully beta-tested its flagship product, Eye of the Storm (EYE) Enterprise 2011, with Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c.
