Caringo Looks to Reach Next Level with New Appointment

Adrian J. Herrera's accomplished track record in establishing markets for innovative technologies and experience in the cloud storage space has impressed company officials at Caringo Inc. This was evident when he joined the executive ranks as senior director of marketing.

The appointment was part of an expansion strategy in the object storage and private cloud storage software space at Caringo.

In a press release, Herrera, commenting on the appointment said, “I was extremely impressed with Caringo’s progress and how CAStor protects an organization’s content from many forms of technological obsolescence.”

He elaborated on the Caringo’s Storage OS and spoke about how the software solved real and very challenging issues that were faced by organizations struggling with managing exponentially growing unstructured data over long periods of time and added that he looked forward to working with the Caringo team to expand and establish new markets in the object storage and private cloud space.

Armed with an MBA from San Diego State University specializing in Entrepreneurship and a BS in Information Systems from Chapman University, Herrera began his career at Xing Technology, an early audio/video encoding and streaming company, and later on transferred to Musicmatch.

He helped both organizations define and execute their OEM and distribution strategy and went on to become director of business development at a consumer cloud storage service.

Prior to his appointment at Caringo Inc., Herrera headed the marketing division and was on the founding team at Nirvanix (News - Alert), one of the first cloud storage services. His extraordinary ability helped the company acquire more than 700 customers and that too from the pre-funding stage.

“Our focus at Caringo has been to develop the world’s most robust and reliable distributed object storage software. We hired Adrian to help us capitalize on our years of innovative work and to help push Caringo to the next level in the market,” said Mark Goros, CEO of Caringo.

Goros added that Adrian's track record in establishing markets for innovative technologies, and his work in the cloud storage space, impressed everyone and they were looking forward to working with him.
